We want to see healthy churches discipling the overlooked children of their communities so that there are no spiritual orphans among them but healthy, growing disciples of Jesus being the church in their homes, schools, and communities. We help facilitate this vision by partnering with local churches through children's ministry training and children's outreaches.
Children's Outreaches
We have a large trailer containing a generator, portable sound system, jumping castles, costume characters, Books of Hope (Bibles) and all the activities and props needed for a children's outreach and volunteer training. The side of the trailer also folds down into a stage. We arrive on a Saturday (or school holiday) morning, set up for the children, and send some of the local church members out into the community with full body costume characters and a loud hailer to gather children to come to their church yard to play. After they have played for a while, we gather them around the stage for singing and a Gospel presentation. The children have a chance to respond to the Gospel, receive a Book of Hope, and are invited to return to the church every Sunday to learn more.
Children's Ministry Trainings
After the children leave, we stay and talk to the pastor and volunteers about what they saw and how they can continue to teach and disciple the children of their community.
We begin with why it is so important to lead children to Jesus in a way that they can understand and internalize. Then we present short, fun, interactive sessions on some basic teaching and presentation skills like storytelling, using visual aids and participation while teaching, leading children in praise and worship, and helping children memorize Scripture.
We close our time with them by encouraging them and commissioning them to see, connect with, and disciple the children of their community.
