Bridge of Hope Children's Centre
Bridge of Hope Children's Centre is our South African Nonprofit (registered NPO) dedicated to investing in the lives of vulnerable children and families on a variety of levels. We exist to offer a bridge from a child's current crisis to his/her true identity as a child of the Most High King living life to the fullest. That bridge is the Hope that comes from meeting Jesus.
Our vision is based on the promise of 1 Peter 5:10, "After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."

What started as a dream to build a home to take care of orphaned and abandoned babies is becoming a
multi-faceted initiative to support and strengthen vulnerable families as well as care for children in our community. Phase 1 is Bridge of Hope Preschool. Phase 2 is Bridge of Hope Aftercare, providing after school support for primary school children. Phase 3 is Bridge of Hope Children's Home, providing full-time residential care for children who have been abandoned or need to be removed from a dangerous home situation.
Bridge of Hope Pre-School Program
Launching in April 2026, our preschool offers excellent care, professional staff, English practice, school readiness, and parental support at an affordable price. We are an Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre focussed on wholistic and therapeutic educational practices to prepare little ones for school and for life. Subsidized by donations, we offer hope to struggling families looking for help with little ones while parents are working or looking for work. Woven into our program are opportunities for parents and caregivers to build community and invest in their children through monthly work and training days.
Bridge of Hope After-School Program
After a pilot launch in 2025, our Aftercare program has been temporarily paused while the Department of Social Development sorts out a system issue impacting the filing of our constitution. We hope to be relaunching soon.
Bridge of Hope Aftercare provides safe, fun, wholistic support for primary school children after school. Learners are brought to our premises by their school bus and are dismissed to parents and caregivers at 5:00pm. While in our care, they receive a snack and participate in singing, stories, and outdoor play in a safely enclosed playground in addition to homework help and supplemental instruction in basic English and Maths skills. Learners practice Bible-based problem solving, communication, and other lifeskills while engaging with kind, professional staff and volunteers.

Bridge of Hope is a Non-Profit Company and registered NPO in South Africa. It was founded by Jeff and Abby Hunt to work in partnership with Hope Outreach and its USA-Based parent company, Engage Africa. It has its own board of directors and is committed to fulfilling the Vision and Mission of Engage Africa and Hope Outreach. Our application is pending with SARS to be registered as a PBO with the ability to provide donation receipts for tax benefit purposes.
