Many friends have asked about where we live in South Africa, wanting to know what kind of home we have.  We live in a 2-bedroom flat (apartment).  It is a concrete and brick building with a corrugated metal roof.  By the way, there’s nothing like a metal roof when it rains!  The apartment was already furnished when we arrived.  What a blessing.  We will probably slowly begin purchasing our own furniture and things in preparation for one day owning a home.  However, for now, we are very gratefully using the items provided by the Lighthouse Children’s Shelter for our use.  Below you will find photos of our flat as we found it when we arrived.  Nobody has lived here in over a year, so we will need to do some cleaning and rearranging.  You can consider these the “before” photos -just to give you an idea of our home.
