Care Packages

Care Packages

if they could send us a care package.  The short answer is yes.  The more practical answer is a little bit more complicated.  Yes, it is possible for us to receive packages -and we do enjoy receiving mail.  Postage is rather expensive for sending parcels overseas, but USPS does have several sizes of “if it fits, it ships” boxes.  When you send a package in one of these, USPS does not consider the weight of the package and there is a flat fee for sending it anywhere in the world.  If you consider using these boxes, be sure to ask for the international rates.

A few special instructions if you decide to send a box...

  1. please address it only to Jeff Hunt (do not put both names on the label).  Cards and letters can be addressed to either or both of us, but packages require ID to claim, and it is usually Jeff that collects the mail.

  2. please state “used items” or “gift” or “no retail value” on the label where it asks about contents and value.  Please NEVER write “used clothing” or “donation” or “charity” on the label.

  3. please send us an email to let us know that a package is coming.  Surprises are fun, but if we are not watching for and asking about potential packages, it is not uncommon for them to be lost or not delivered.  Again, cards and letters do not require any advanced notice or special instructions.

  4. please do not not send cash or checks.  If you would like to make a gift of money, please see the “partnership” tab on this website.
